Theft by Deception-Felony

A man stated that someone had scammed him by claiming to want to buy the man’s motorcycle off the internet. He became suspicious when he was asked to send a security deposit and money to unknown accounts. He soon found out that the person’s account information was not real. He was unsure as to who had attempted to scam him. The reporting officer was Ramsey Mannon.

Domestic Dispute; Simple Assault; Cruelty to Children- Allow Child to Witness

A man advised that he had gotten into several verbal and physical altercations with his wife in the past. The wife stated that she wished to leave the residence with her child due to the violence. Both parties gave conflicting stories regarding bruising on the wife and a broken phone. Their landlord said that this particular incident had not been physical, and both parties were released from the scene. The wife advised that she would be staying at a friend’s house. Theft by Conversion; Civil Matter

A man stated that his daughter-in-law had stolen a generator that he loaned his son. He noted that the daughter-in-law had assaulted him in the past and that she was not supposed to have a firearm. The son and the daughter-in-law later claimed that the generator had been given to them for them to keep. They also said that they had recently sold it to their neighbor for $100. All parties were advised to settle the issue amongst themselves. The reporting officer was Bryan Shearouse.

Simple Assault

A man was seen threatening to harm a minor who had been involved in a car crash. The other party in the crash was the man’s daughter, and she later claimed that he had hit her on the back of the head at some point. The daughter agreed to leave her father’s residence for the time being. The reporting officer was John Preston Morris.

Wanted Person-Warrant Service

A man advised that he had seen two suspicious persons walking down the side of the road. It was later revealed that one of the persons was wanted for a probation violation. After a brief confrontation, the person was placed under arrest. The other person was released from the scene. The reporting officer was Christopher Cary.

Passing in No Passing Zone; Driving Without License

A woman was seen passing a vehicle on the road in a no passing zone. She admitted to not having a driver’s license and was arrested. She contacted her mother to pick up the vehicle. The reporting officer was Karyn Witherington.

Possession of Marijuana Less than One Ounce

A man was spotted parked near a community pond in a suspicious fashion. It was noted that his vehicle smelled strongly of marijuana. The substance was later found on the man and in his vehicle. He was placed under arrest, and his two passengers were released from the scene. The reporting officer was Cody Chapman.

May 17

Driving Without License

A man was spotted driving down the road at a very high rate of speed. While he did have an international license, he admitted to not having a state issued license and was placed under arrest. His vehicle was released to the passenger. The reporting officer was Jason Fondren.

Animal Complaint

A woman advised that her friend had spotted the woman’s dog that had been missing for about three weeks. The friend had seen the dog at the residence of a neighbor who owned a similar dog. Photos were taken of the neighbor’s dog, and the woman said that she believed the dog was hers. Both parties were advised to work out the situation amongst themselves. Criminal Damage to Property-Second Degree

An unknown informant stated that two men had damaged a vehicle in a parking lot. The damage included two cracked windows. Both men denied having any knowledge of the damaged vehicle. The owner of the vehicle admitted to having previously stolen $800 from one of the men and said that the incident might have been related to the money. The reporting officer was Cody Chapman.

Overdue Motorist

A man stated that he woke up in the morning to discover that his wife was missing. Her purse and car were gone, but her cell phone was not. He noted that his wife does suffer from depression but said that she was not suicidal. It was later revealed that the wife had been arrested and was in jail. The reporting officer was Caleb Grovenstein.

May 18

Robbery by Sudden Snatching

A man stated that his neighbor snatched several prescription pills out of his hand after the two got into an argument over money. The neighbor claimed, however, that the man regularly sells him erectile disfunction medicine and that the pills in question were payment for a debt. The man was advised to settle the debt by other means, and the neighbor was advised to not take medication without a prescription. The reporting officer was James Daniel McKie.

May 19

Terroristic Threats and/or Acts

A man stated that his neighbor threatened to kill him as he was going down the roadway. The neighbor was driving at a very slow pace, and when he turned into his driveway, he proceeded to flip the man the bird for no apparent reason. When the man questioned him about this, the neighbor started to curse at the man and threaten to kill him. The neighbor denied this and claimed that it was the man who threatened to kill him. All parties were advised to avoid contact with each other at all costs. The reporting officer was Fonzie Wayne Smith.

Damage to Property

A man stated that his brother’s vehicle had been damaged by an unknown person. The damage included three tears in the roof, graffiti on the driver’s side door, a few holes in the trunk, and a shattered windshield. The man was unsure as to who could have committed the crime. The reporting officer was Malcom Foy.

Theft by Taking-Felony

A woman stated that her late father’s handgun had been stolen. Her mother was home alone at the time that it went missing, and she was unsure as to who could have committed the theft. The reporting officer was Fonzie Wayne Smith.

Wanted Person-Warrant Service; Possession of Marijuana

A woman was seen driving down the road in a vehicle that smelled strongly of burned marijuana. She claimed that she had only been around people who used the substance; however, some marijuana was later found in her vehicle in the pants of her passenger. It was also revealed that the passenger had an active warrant, and he was swiftly arrested. The woman was released from the scene. The reporting officer was John Preston Morris.

DUI-Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol; Possession of Open Alcohol Container; Failure to Maintain Lane

A man was spotted sitting in his parked vehicle in the parking lot of a closed store. When he left, he was unable to maintain his proper lane while driving. It was noted that his vehicle smelled strongly of alcoholic beverages. He claimed that he had pulled into the parking lot to speak to his daughter over the phone. He admitted to having one beer and agreed to take a field sobriety test. He failed and was swiftly placed under arrest. A search of his vehicle later revealed an empty beer bottle under the passenger’s seat. The vehicle was released to his wife. The reporting officer was Malcom Foy.

Dogs, Cats or Livestock Running at Large Prohibited

A man advised that he had been bitten by his neighbor’s dog while walking down the street. The neighbor stated that the dog had escaped its fenced in area and that it only attacked the man because he throws beer cans at it. She was advised to repair the fence and to keep the dog contained at all times. The reporting officer was Bryan Shearouse.
