Fugitives back in custody

Effingham County Sheriff's deputies have arrested two fugitives whom had been sought since May 27.

Deputies, assisted by the U.S. Marshals Service and the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department, found Dan Edwards, 40, of Guyton, and Robin Johnson, 39, of Guyton, at a residence in the 600 block of East 54th Street in Savannah after receiving a tip. Deputies had asked for the public's help in finding both individuals.

Both suspects are wanted on numerous felony warrants. Edwards and Johnson have extensive criminal histories and are believed to be involved in criminal activity in Effingham County.

Johnson and Edwards will be taken back to Effingham to face charges.

"Once again, the public's assistance helped deputies locate these individuals," said Effingham Sheriff Jimmy McDuffie.
