The Rincon Police Department has arrested a Rincon man on charges of child molestation.

Officers have arrested Steven John Anderson, 66, and charged him with child molestation, cruelty to children in the first degree and public indeceny.

According to the Rincon Police, officers were investigating several anonymous complaints of a man walking onto his front porch, fully nude, while a local school bus was delivering children to the neighborhood.

Officers positioned themselves in the area in order to observe the person. As the school bus approached, Anderson walked out the front of his residence in the nude, exposing himself to the children on the bus.

Officers were able to apprehend Anderson as he retreated into his home to try to evade the officers.

Anderson has been transported to the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office where he will await an arraignment hearing.
