RINCON — Early voting for Tuesday’s municipal elections in Effingham County ends Friday.
During the early voting period, ballots can be cast in Rincon at City Hall, 302 South Columbia Ave., from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. through Friday.
Guyton’s early voting is taking place at its City Hall from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. through Friday.
Springfield isn’t having an election because none of its incumbents drew opposition.
In Rincon, Christi Ricker, a member of the Rincon City Council, is challenging incumbent Mayor Ken Lee.
Rincon also has six candidates vying for three city council posts. They are Eric Brierton, Ann L. Daniel (incumbent), Jerome A. Erwin, Kevin Exley, Patrick Kirkland and Levi Scott Jr. (incumbent).
There are two spots up for grabs on the Guyton City Council.
Michael Gerwig, Joseph Lee and Quinton White are eying the open Post 3 seat.
The Post 4 contest pits incumbent Michael Johnson against Marshall Reiser.
