Edenfield named vice commander for 165th

Col. Keith Edenfield

Col. Keith Edenfield has been given a new leadership role as vice commander of the Georgia Air National Guard’s 165th Airlift Wing.  
The Savannah-based airlift wing flies the venerable C-130H aircraft in which Col. Edenfield is a command pilot.

Col. Edenfield, as a traditional Guardsman, has held numerous positions within the wing, including roles as commander of the 165th Operations Group and the 158th Airlift Squadron.  

He has over 5,000 flight hours and has served in various rotations in the war zones of Iraq and Afghanistan.  

As vice commander, he works with the commander who oversees an operation of over 1,000 personnel and eight C-130 H2 aircraft.  The 165th Airlift Wing has served on numerous rotations during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.

Col. Edenfield is a graduate of the University of Georgia and received his commission from the Reserve Officer Training Corps.  He is a graduate of the Air War College.  

Col. Edenfield resides in Loganville with his wife Allyson and their children, Ansley and Clayton. Col. Edenfield is the son of Mrs. Francis Knight of Effingham County and is a pilot with Delta Air Lines flying the Boeing 737 aircraft.
