As of 3 p.m. Wednesday, there have been 11,990 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in residents of the Coastal Health District and 168 deaths.

  • Camden: 804 cases, 5 deaths
  • Chatham: 5,990 cases, 87 deaths
  • Effingham: 770 cases, 5 death
  • Glynn: 2,625 cases, 53 deaths

The Rev. Lon Maurice Harden has been named the 2025 recipient of the John Adam Treutlen Award, the highest honor from the Effingham County Chamber of Commerce. A Marine Corps veteran, longtime pastor of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church and dedicated community leader, Harden was recognized for his decades of service, spiritual leadership and civic involvement across Effingham County.
