As of 3 p.m. Monday, there have been 13,604 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in residents of the Coastal Health District and 228 deaths.

Two Arrested After Stolen Ambulance Chase Ends in Crash in Port Wentworth

Two men are in custody after police say one stole an ambulance and led officers on a chase from Rincon to Port Wentworth Monday afternoon. The driver, Dwayne Simmons, 56, of Savannah, faces multiple felony charges. The passenger, Georgell Brown, 51, was charged with loitering after fleeing the scene of an earlier crash. The pursuit ended when the ambulance crashed near Highway 21.
