SPRINGFIELD — Volleyball season isn’t over for Effingham County’s Andrea Garcia.

A key figure on the first Effingham County team to qualify for the Class AAAAAA Elight Eight, Garcia has been invited to participate in the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association North-South Junior Volleyball Classic in Dalton on Nov. 11.  She helped the Rebels post a 24-3 record.

“Andrea has been such a pleasure to coach over the last three years,” Effingham County coach Brittany Lein said. “When she came to me as a freshman, I saw so much volleyball potential in her. I think I have finally convinced her that volleyball is the sport she was meant to play!”

Garcia excels at soccer, too. She covers a lot of ground in both sports and is a defensive specialist.

“Not only is she an excellent student, she is one of the hardest-working girls at practice,” Lein said. “I don’t think she stops on weekends, either. Andrea always gives 100 percent on a good day or a bad day.

"She rises to every occasion each time she steps on the court. I am so proud of her for making the Junior All-Star Game and have enjoyed watching her grow as an athlete, student and youg lady this season."
