Effingham Girl Scouts Skate Night
Girl scouts skate night 23

Girl Scouts from all over Effingham County enjoyed a night of skating at Marantha Church on Friday, November 10, 2023. Girls spent quality time with their sister Girl Scouts as they made their way around the rink to songs like “Never Gonna Give You Up,” “The Macarena,” and “Smooth Criminal.” As the song “Make New Friends” goes, these Girl Scouts were able to “make new friends and keep the old” as they socialized with friends they already knew and met new girls along the way. Not everyone was on the same skill level, but that didn’t dampen the fun. The less-experienced skaters had a safe place to practice and improve their skills while they cheered on the more experienced troop members who raced in the Skate-Off. When girls were not skating, they were able to enjoy a hot dog combo meal and buy some candy. The girls had so much fun that many are hoping there will be another Skate Night in the spring!

In Girl Scouts, girls in grades K-12 bring their dreams to life and work together to build a better world, knowing the next opportunity to stand up, speak up and take the lead is never far away. The possibilities for greatness are truly endless.
