SPRINGFIELD -- The 75th Effingham County Fair is rolling along.

The family event, featuring fun rides, games and lots of food, will continue through Saturday.

One of Wednesday's big events is the Swine Show.
Guyton councilman indicted on five felonies in city credit card case

Guyton City Councilman Theodore Hamby indicted on five counts.

Guyton City Councilman Theodore Hamby was indicted Monday on five felony charges related to the alleged misuse of a city credit card. The indictment includes three counts of financial transaction card fraud and two counts of making false statements. Hamby, 26, is accused of making more than $400 in unauthorized purchases and lying to a GBI agent during the investigation. He denies the charges.
