As of noon Wednesday there are 232 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in residents of the Coastal Health District and 7 deaths.

  • Bryan: 26 cases, 2 deaths
  • Camden: 17 cases
  • Chatham: 123 cases, 4 deaths
  • Effingham: 18 cases, 1 death
  • Glynn: 30 cases
  • Liberty: 13 cases
  • Long: 1 cases
  • McIntosh: 3 cases

The Rev. Lon Maurice Harden has been named the 2025 recipient of the John Adam Treutlen Award, the highest honor from the Effingham County Chamber of Commerce. A Marine Corps veteran, longtime pastor of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church and dedicated community leader, Harden was recognized for his decades of service, spiritual leadership and civic involvement across Effingham County.
