Seaman Recruit Jonathan S. McAtee graduated from Navy basic military training at Great Lakes Naval Training Center, Great Lakes, Ill., on June 8.

During the eight weeks of training, the recruit studied the Navy mission and core values, military customs and courtesies, and performed drill and ceremony marches. He received basic training in seamanship, water survival, weapon marksmanship, firefighting and physical training, and attended classes in human relations.

McAtee is a 2006 graduate of South Effingham High School. He is the son of Jerry McAtee Jr. of Guyton and the late Pamela Noha Bouchard of Savannah.
