The state Department of Transportation is asking motorists to use caution and expect delays on Ebenezer Road and Highway 21 Friday morning.

A 941,840-pound deaerator will be moved from Plant McIntosh in Rincon to Plant Vogtle in Waynesboro this weekend.

Beginning Friday morning at 8:30 a.m., the 18 feet wide, 22 feet high, 235 feet long load will travel from Effingham County and should arrive at the stopping point outside of Sylvania around 2:30 p.m.

During this time and along the routes, traffic will be slow or even stopped at some points due to the excessive size of the load.

The mega load, which is two lanes wide, will have police escorts and moving message boards warning of traffic interruptions.
