Mustangs come up short in high-scoring affair

It was a long night for South Effingham's football team, which struggled to find its rhythm on both sides of the ball Friday night. The Mustangs pulled out all the stops, but it wasn’t enough as Jenkins came out on top 45-36 in a non-region contest.

“We just made too many mistakes early,” Mustanges head coach Donnie Revell. “Jenkins did a nice job fighting, too. It was a good fourth-quarter, but you can’t let a team like that get ahead of you because it’s hard to come back, but our kids kept fighting -- and that’s a positive thing."
