Sheriff McDuffie named Secretary Treaurer of Georgia Sheriffs' Youth Homes

The Georgia Sheriff’s Youth Home recently named Sheriff Jimmy McDuffie as the Secretary Treasurer.

Since 1960, Georgia Sheriff’s Youth Homes has provided quality care for hundreds of children in Georgia.

There are five youth home campuses across the state offering a structured, loving environment for the children to live in.

They attend public schools and are offered spiritual and moral teachings.

They also receive valuable training and services to help them grow into productive, successful adults.

Sheriff McDuffie was voted Secretary Treasurer on July 18 during the yearly annual summer conference.

Sheriff McDuffie will serve as Secretary Treasurer for one year, then he will move up to 2nd Vice President and then President in 2020.

Sheriff McDuffie has been in law enforcement for 40 years, 30 of those years in Effingham County.

He recently celebrated 15 years in July 2017 as Sheriff of Effingham County.

He has been married for 27 years to Wanda Edwards. He is the father of two and a proud grandfather.

Sheriff McDuffie has worked diligently to update and improve law enforcement in Effingham County to ensure the safety and well being of all citizens.
