Special election for Senate seat draws five candidates

Nov. 6 is general election day.

A June 9 special election to fill the vacant Georgia Senate District 4 seat will feature five candidates.

The candidates include Kathy Palmer of Swainsboro, Dr. Scott Bohlke of Brooklet, Billy Hickman of Statesboro, Neil Singleton of Collins and Stephen Jared Sammons of Adrian.

A runoff, if needed for the seat formerly held by Jack Hill is slated Aug,. 11. Hill died April 6 while serving his 15th term.
