Storm impact slight in Effingham County
Hurricane report

The Effingham Emergency Management Agency  monitored Hurricane Dorian throughout Wednesday night. There was little impact to Effingham County. 

EEMA's Emergency Operations Center will be dropping back to Ops Level 3 and releasing additional staff. 

Local Announcements: 

The following locations are closed Thursday and will reopen Friday:

 • Effingham County Board of Commissioners •

 • Effingham County Animal Shelter • 

 • Effingham County Recreation Department and all activities will resume Friday

 • The city offices of Guyton, Rincon and Springfield 

The following are closed Thursday and reopening dates remain to be determined::

 • Effingham County Schools

 • Effingham County Courts 

Atlantic Waste will run Thursday starting at 10 a.m. to get as much of the Wednesday routes complete as possibl. Te remaining Wednesday routes and the majority if not all of Thursday routes will be picked up Friday. Any remaining Thursday and all the Friday routes will be picked up by the end of the day Saturday.
