SPRINGFIELD -- The Effingham County Sheriff’s Office Investigative Division has made an arrest in the disappearance and death of 28-year-old Jamison Lemons nearly a year after he disappeared.

On May 7, 2017, Savannah Chatham Metro investigators initiated an investigation into the disappearance of Lemons from a Margery Street address in Savannah. The investigation revealed that Lemons' last known location was actually at a residence in Effingham County.

In June 2017, investigators from Savannah Chatham Metro and the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at 167 Lanier White Road in Clyo and discovered burned and dismembered human remains. The remains were submitted for DNA testing.

This month, the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office was notified DNA testing positively identified the remains as those of Lemons.

On May 3, the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office CID arrested 25-year-old Justin Jammison of the 100 block of Lanier White Road and charged him with murder and concealing a death. Jammison was transported and booked into the Effingham County Jail.
