Howard sets South Effingham record in season-ending event

South Effingham's boys cross country participated in the Meet of Champions on Saturday in Fayetteville.

The event featured 21 of Georgia's top squads. The Mustangs finished 14th overall.

Cailan Howard set a sl record of 15:51.88 while finishing ninth. Other South runners in the 2021 season's final race included Tyler Phillips, Joey Burdick, Karistopher Gadsden, Caiden Mason, Zane Bell and Cesar Martinez.

Cheyenne Ryan ran the open race and finished 31st out of 46 girls.

Rising senior Jayden Hair scored three touchdowns and flashed elite speed during South Effingham’s first summer football scrimmages. With a strong track background and growing leadership role, Hair is emerging as a key two-way contributor as the Mustangs look to rebound from a winless 2024 season.
