Mustangs overcome seven-run deficit, swat Yellow Jackets

GUYTON -- The South Effingham Mustangs continued their flair for the dramatic as they racked up their fifth straight win Friday night.

Southeast Bulloch (3-4) led 7-0 after three innings but couldn't hold the advantage. The Mustangs (7-2)  rallied for an 8-7 eighth-inning triumph.

The Mustangs logged an eighth-inning win against Effingham County in their third game and rallied from four runs back to beat Jenkins on Thursday, 

Kaleb Johnson delivered the decisive blow against the Yellow Jackets with a one-out, bases loaded chopper over the mound that went for a single .It was his second hit of the contest.

Hunter Walthour scored on the walk-off safety.

South Effingham's Phillip Cooper knocked in a team-high three runs on two hits. Nick Duke knocked in two runs and had one hits.

The Mustangs used five pitchers. Brantley Griggs, Duke, Walthour and Nick Milbrant allowed only one earned run over the final 6 2/3 inings.
