BROOKLET -- Senior running back Jamari Fields ran for 115 yards and two touchdowns to lead South Effingham to an impressive 35-14 win over Southeast Bulloch in a scrimmage Friday night.

Fields led a power attack that produced 325 rushing yards. He scored on runs of 43 and 7 yards in the first half.

Ashton Troutman broke a 14-14 deadlock with another 43-yard TD run less than four minutes into the second half and SEHS pulled away with Jah'Tavion Weickerson's 4-yard TD run. Sophomore quarterback Lawton Bowen added a 9-yard TD run in the fourth quarter.

Defensive back Justin Martell intercepted two passes to set up two key scores.

The Mustangs' football season starts for real next Friday at Vidalia.
