GUYTON -- At halftime of Friday's boys basketball game between Effingham County and South Effingham, senior South Effingham triple jumper Cameron Edwards received his state championship ring.

Principal Dr. Torian White presented the ring to Edwards, who jumped 45 feet, 8 inches at the Class  AAAAAA State Meet in Carrollton in May. He topped his personal best by more than 13 inches.
