Effingham County’s Levi Thomas captured first place at the 7th Mile Farm Invitational in Statesboro last Thursday.
Thomas, a senior, won by more than 26 seconds with a time of 17:44.20. About three weeks ago, Thomas set the school-record with a 16:55.81 at the Augusta Prep Invitational.
Others among ECHS’ top five in Statesboro were Robbie Velasquez (27th, 19:55.30), Brevin Bergman (31st, 20:05.80), Tristan Kurtz (46th, 20:49.40) and Jacob Conaway (48th, 20:54.20).
For ECHS’ girls, Brooke Maseda led the team with a time of 23:29.20.
Rounding out the Rebels’ top five girls were Ivey Rahn (29:01.70), Emily Timms (30:28.50), Ellie Forwood (30:50.30) and Presley Krahne (30:50.80).
