With the Effingham County Extension office located directly across the street from the county animal shelter, needs for the furry little friends become quite apparent.

Recently, 4-H’ers from across Effingham County donated canned goods for the dogs and cats housed in the shelter to help with the cost of feeding them.

The goal of this and other community service projects is not only to draw attention to the needs of others, but also cultivate 4-H youth to become productive and contributing members of society.
