In an effort to prevent drinking and driving, Effingham County High School students performed as the victims and driver in a drunk driving accident Thursday.

The accident was staged as four prom attendees in an accident with a couple.

Members of the Sheriff's Department, Guyton Fire Department, Emergency Medical Services, Riggs Funeral Home and Life Star all participated in the demonstration.

Students were also encouraged through the week to sign the prom promise. The prom promise is a promise to not drink and drive.
