ECHS FFA teams take part in leadership career development events

On Dec. 7, the ECHS FFA Farm Business Management team and Parliamentary Procedure team competed at the Area 4 Leadership Career Development Event held in Waynesboro at Burke County High School. 
 
The Farm Business Management Team placed second and will advance to compete on the state level on March 19. Team members were Desiree Aanerud, Shane Rahn, Jesse Edwards and Dylan Oglesby. 
 
The Farm Business Management Career Development Event develops the abilities to apply the economic principles and concepts used in analyzing farm-ranch business management decisions. It also teaches management skills and critical and analytical thinking.  
 
Participants in the Parliamentary Procedure event develop leadership skills and learn to effectively participate in business meetings. The competition the presentation of certain motions and evaluation of the official meeting minutes are recorded by the team secretary.
 
Team members include Amber Crank, Tiffany Hancock, Katie Herndon, Jennifer Maddox, Andrea Freeman and Kristie Lowery. The Parliamentary Procedure team placed fourth.
