Effingham students make Georgia Tech dean’s list

ATLANTA — Seven local students earned the distinction of dean’s list at the Georgia Institute of Technology for fall 2013.

This designation is awarded to undergraduate students who have a 3.0 or higher academic average for the semester.

Students who made the dean’s list were:

Michael Pinder of Guyton

Berendsen named to Berry’s dean’s list

ROME — Samuel Berendsen of Guyton has been named to Berry College’s dean’s list for the fall 2013 semester.

To be eligible for dean’s list, a student must carry a semester grade-point average of 3.5 or better.


Three Effingham students earn Mercer dean’s list honors

MACON — Three students from Effingham County were named to the dean’s list at Mercer University for the fall 2013 semester.
Inclusion on the list requires students to meet rigorous grade-point average standards specific to their college or school within the university.

Earning dean’s list honors were:
William O’Dell of Rincon, a senior, was named to the dean’s list of the School of Engineering.
Charles Patterson of Rincon, a sophomore, was named to the dean’s list of the Townsend School of Music.
Kirston Cox of Guyton, a freshman, was named to the dean’s list of the Townsend School of Music.


Hall makes dean’s list at Clemson

CLEMSON, S.C. — Erin Hall of Springfield, a health science major, has been named to the dean’s list at Clemson University for the fall 2013 semester.

To be named to the dean’s list, a student must achieve a grade-point average between 3.50 and 3.99 on a 4.0 scale.


North Georgia commends three students from Effingham County

Three students from Effingham County earned 2013 fall semester academic honors at the University of North Georgia.

Shelby Nicholle Kullman of Rincon was named to the president’s list at UNG.

Students achieving a 4.0 grade-point average and carrying 12 or more credit hours in one semester are placed on the president’s list. Students also must have no grade lower than B.

Making the dean’s list were Laura Elizabeth Alexander of Rincon and Reagan M. Johnson of Guyton.
