The Effingham County Board of Education has named Barbara Prosser, currently the corporate compliance officer at Effingham Hospital and Care Center, as the permanent CEO and principal of the Effingham Career Academy.

“Actually it was suggested that I might be interested in it by someone, and I gave it quite a bit of thought and pondered and prayed about it,” Prosser said. “I saw the potential with it, and I think I can bring quite a bit of experience with regard to not just my business background but also educationally in creating collaborative work with everyone.”

Said Effingham County School Superintendent Randy Shearouse: “It just felt like her experience really lent itself well to what we wanted in a CEO.”
