Schools give softball teams big sendoffs

Effingham County is being represented by not one, but two teams in the state softball tournament Elite Eight in Columbus.

Effingham County High (24-7) is competing for the Class AAAAA crown, while South Effingham (24-9) is playing in the Class AAAA Elite Eight for the second straight year.

Both teams received big sendoffs from their schools' students and staff as they departed Wednesday for Columbus.
