Soccer association helps players improve skills
Dear Editor:
Supergoose Sports is an amazing soccer association and I think it needs to be recognized. It is an indoor soccer field and also a hockey ring. They melt down the ice and lay down the turf. They offer summer and winter indoor soccer and will really help your soccer skills. It is a quick moving, hard working game, and helps you learn a lot.
Supergoose also offers ice hockey. I do not play hockey there but I’ve heard great things about it.
They also have nice tables set up for lunch if you want to watch hockey or a soccer game and have breakfast or lunch. It has a drink and snack stand in case you forgot to bring your drink.
Along with this they have a game room with pool foosball and other games. This can get the attention of smaller or older siblings of the person who is playing a game or practice.
Upstairs they have jerseys and soccer equipment. For example, they have indoor soccer shoes, shin guards, and goalie equipment.
To wrap things up, Supergoose Sports is awesome.

Hockey forgotten in local media sports coverage
Dear Editor:
Where is hockey? You hear about basketball, football, golf, and many more, but no hockey. My family and I have lived here for 10 years and have only heard of hockey on the news (in the paper and on television) once. Who cares if it is played on ice? If you say the teams are too far away I will laugh. You have the Atlanta Braves and the Atlanta Thrashers. One is baseball, the other hockey. My question is, how much do you hear about the Thrashers?
How many times do you hear about football pre-season starting or basketball training camps starting? A bunch of times, but when do you hear about the hockey season starting? I did not even hear about the Detroit Red Wings winning the Stanley Cup. My point is that hockey is a sport as much as football, baseball, and soccer. There are thirty teams, and there is a team in Georgia. Please start writing about hockey — it’s a growing sport and needs support.

South Effingham coaches deserve recognition for guiding students
Dear Editor:
Coaches for SEMS and SEHS need to be recognized more. It’s not just because they are very good coaches, but because they teach kids lessons to help them later in life. People say they are too strict or too overbearing, but that’s what most kids need. People also might say they want everything perfect but what one of my coaches has said, “Practice does not make perfect; perfect practice makes perfect.”
Coaches will get the best out of you one way or another. It’s true they like to win, (who doesn’t) but that is not their goal; more so their goal is to teach you discipline and respect. So think before you say something bad about someone — especially coaches.

Cockiness costs Bulldogs games
Dear Editor:
On the Saturday, Sept. 27, the No. 3 ranked Georgia Bulldogs lost to the No. 8 ranked Alabama Crimson Tide, 41-30. The Bulldogs could have beaten them with ease. Coach Mark Richt let them get too cocky. They need to work on not causing so many penalties. They have the most penalties in all Division 1A college football. They got too cocky and went into halftime 31-0.
In the second half they outscored Alabama 30-10, but that wasn’t enough to pull off a win. Although they lost, there is still light at the end of the tunnel because Alabama is in the SEC West. The Bulldogs had better pull together and end the season with only one loss, the SEC Championship, and the National Championship. They need to set aside their cockiness and focus on playing football.

Bulldogs schedule too easy for ranking?
Dear Editor:
Georgia Bulldogs started at pre-season number one. Their first game they played Georgia Southern University. The Bulldogs beat them by a smaller margin than expected. They dropped to number two after winning. Why would that happen? Maybe a weak schedule. After this game, the Georgia Bulldogs beat Central Michigan University and the South Carolina Gamecocks. Georgia only beat the Gamecocks by seven points, but South Carolina fumbled at the goal line while about to score a touchdown. Then they dropped to number three in the polls.
Why would the head coach schedule easy non-conference games? Maybe the coach is not sure if his team is up to speed. Why should they not drop in the polls? Well, maybe they should if they cannot beat unranked teams by a large margin. If they had a tougher, non-conference schedule they would not drop in the rank. If the Bulldogs would have had a more difficult schedule last year, they could have gotten into the BCS championship game.
