A team of 19 First Baptist Church of Rincon volunteers went to Sanyati, Zimbabwe, last month. While there, they presented “True Love Waits” to sixth- and seventh-graders, and read Bible stories, played music and games and performed puppetry for students in kindergarten through fifth grade.

Soccer balls and teaching supplies were donated to the Sanyati Primary School. Team members replaced the roof on the hospital’s mourning area, replaced the roof on the generator area and painted the outside walkway. They also painted four murals and presented baby blankets, caps and wraps in the maternity area.

Calley Sullivan, a high school senior and aspiring nurse, helped deliver a baby.

Dr. Bill Gammon of First Baptist Church of Rincon was asked to name a baby, and gave her the name Angel. A special blanket also was presented to the child.

Team members were Dr. Bill and Lucia Gammon, Calley Sullivan, Suzanne Hartzog, Virginia Perry, Pam Williams, Beth Pye, Lenny Pye, Danielle Frailey, Barbara and Joe Brackett, Mona Underwood, Gary and Emily Leggett, James and Pat McEleveen, and Deryl and Donnie Greenway.
