Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Dewey Carter of Guyton announce the engagement of their daughter, Marcia Lyn Carter to Mr. Dennis Ray Heater, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Edward Heater of Stinnett, Texas.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Carter and the late Mr. and Mrs. Ivy Britt of Savannah. She is a graduate of Effingham County High School and is employed by WalMart in Savannah.

The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Heater of Iowa and the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Teel of California. He attended Chico High School in Chico, Texas.  Mr. Heater is employed by Thompson Pump and Manufacturing of Pooler.

The wedding is planned for Dec. 10 at 3 p.m. at Sand Hill Baptist Church in Guyton.
