Glenn A. Helmly and Laura P. Helmly of Savannah are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Brittany Lynne Helmly, to Jackson Caine Carter, son of Ronnie G. Carter of Ashland, Kan., and Dawn R. Carter of Cheyenne, Wyo.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry L. Helmly of Guyton, Ms. Ellen Saxon of Rincon, Mr. and Mrs. Frank E. Polk of Midway, and Mr. Louis J. Peca and the late Betty J. Peca of Fort Walton Beach, Fla. She is a 2007 honor graduate of Effingham County High School.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Curtis and Sally Slaton of Ashland, Kan., Wanda Carter of Hutchinson, Kan., Steve and Lou Rohlf of Denver, Colo., and Floyd Carter of Gove, Okla. He is a 2001 graduate of Meade High School in Meade, Kan.

The wedding is planned for June 13, 2009, at 6 p.m. on Tybee Island Beach. Family and friends are invited.
