Stanley and Kathy Layne of Meldrim announce the engagement of their daughter, Lora R. Layne to Marcus C. Batchelor, son of Mark and Michelle Batchelor of Guyton.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Eugene and Gloria Ellison of Meldrim and of the late Albert Layne of Meldrim and the late Grace S. Hopkins of Pooler. She is a graduate of South Effingham High School.
The groom-elect is the grandson of Mrs. Malah Pack and the late John R. Batchelor of Guyton and Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Gumby of Port Wentworth. He attended South Effingham High School and is employed by Braddy Electric Co.
