Dr. and Mrs. Michael Moore of Springfield are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Lori Michelle, to Benjamin Frederick Newkirk, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy J. Newkirk Jr. of Rincon.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Kathryn Zipperer of Rincon, and the late Leon A. Zipperer Sr., and of Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Moore of Guyton, and the late Dorothy Moore. She is a 1996 graduate of Effingham County High School and a 2006 graduate of Georgia Southern University, where she received an education specialist degree in educational leadership. She is a member of the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. She is currently employed by the Effingham County Board of Education as an Assistant Principal at Blandford Elementary School.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Mrs. Gracie Helmly of Rincon  and  the late Freddie Helmly, and of the late Louise and Roy Newkirk Sr.  He is a 1993 graduate of Effingham County High School and is also a 1997 graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he  received a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering, and a 2003 graduate of Georgia Southern University with a masters degree in business administration. He is currently employed at DWG, Inc.  

The wedding will be held on June 30, 2007, at 6 p.m. at the Springfield United Methodist Church. Friends and relatives are invited to attend.
