Mr. and Mrs. William Parnell announce the engagement of their daughter, Lauren Brooks, to Scott Wesley Bragg, son of Mr. and Mrs. Rickie Bragg.

The bride elect is the grand-daughter of Mrs. Mattie Coleman and the late Mr. Loren Brooks Coleman and the late Mr. Harry Parnell and Mrs. Christina Parnell McMillan. She is a graduate of Calvary Day School and a recent graduate of Armstrong Atlantic State University with a bachelor’s degree in communication sciences and disorders. She will attend graduate school in the fall to pursue her master’s degree in communication sciences and disorders. She is employed by the Sundae Café on Tybee Island and Savannah Speech and Hearing Center’s Sound Start: An Auditory/Oral School for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.

The groom elect is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joe Causey and Mrs. Frances Bragg and the late Mr. Wilbur Bragg. He is a graduate of Effingham County High School. He attended Savannah Technical College and received his certificate in electronics technologies. He has been employed by Unicco at Gulfstream Aerospace for 11 years.

The wedding is planned for July 19, 2008, at Living Faith Church of God in Guyton.

Mr. and Mrs. Dale Mixon of Guyton announce the upcoming marriage of their daughter, Amy Cierra Mixon, to Landon Harry Snooks, son of Steven and Harriett Snooks of Springfield. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Hill, Sr. of Eatonton, Ga., and the great-granddaughter of James Harmon Sr. of Fort Valley, Ga. Cierra is a 2012 graduate of South Effingham High School and a 2017 graduate of Armstrong State University with a bachelor of science in Radiologic Science with a focus in cardiovascular science. Cierra is employed at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro.
