Mr. and Mrs. Robert Porterfield of Rincon announce the engagement of their daughter, Debra Paige Porterfield, to John McKinley Davis of Springfield.

Paige is the granddaughter of Fred and Pauline Jacoby of Savannah and the late Jimmy Porterfield and Peggy Porterfield of Greenville, S.C., and the great-granddaughter of the late Alvin T. Linton and Kathleen Linton of Savannah. She graduated from Effingham County High School in 2004 and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Development in 2009 from the University of South Carolina-Beaufort. She will be pursuing a career in teaching.

John is the son of the late Johnny R. Davis and Jackie Davis of Springfield and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Kenny Davis of Hollywood, S.C., and the late J.W. and Eleanor Dandrige of Cottageville, S.C. He graduated from Effingham County High School in 2002 and received an Associates Degree from Ogeechee Technical College in Statesboro. He is currently employed with EFACEC.

The wedding is planned for April 2010 in Rincon.
