Mr. and Mrs. Robert Steve Smith of Springfield proudly announce the engagement of their daughter, Robbie Lynn Smith, to James Matthew Wilkes, son of Larry and Donna Wilkes of Dublin.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert “Bobby” Smith of Rincon, and Mrs. Lucie Rae Zittrouer and late Mr. Angus Clinton Zittrouer of Springfield. She was a 2003 graduate of Effingham County High School and a 2007 graduate of Georgia Southern University. She holds a bachelors degree in early childhood education and is currently employed by Bulloch County Board of Education as a teacher.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Hilton Pope and Mr. and Mrs. Larry Wilkes Sr. of Dublin. He is a 1999 graduate of Trinity Christian School in Dublin and a 2005 graduate of Georgia Southern University. He holds a bachelors degree in construction management with a minor in business and is currently employed by Reeves Construction.

The couple plans to wed on Nov. 22, 2008, at 5 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Springfield. The reception will follow the ceremony at Forest Height Country Club in Statesboro. Friends and family are invited.
