Miss Rachel Dawn Sweat and Mr. Joey Clements Jr. are pleased to announce their engagement.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Donna and Joel Avera of Rincon and James Sweat of Mobile, Ala. She is currently employed with the Vidalia Police Department as a dispatcher.

The groom-elect is the son of Wendy Clements of Vidalia and Joey Clements of Biloxi, Miss. He is currently employed with Georgia High Tech Fabrications in Vidalia as an account manager.

The wedding is planned for Oct. 13. The couple will reside in Lyons.
