Smith Barney announced that Barbara Bart has joined the firm as a financial advisor. Dr. Bart will be located in the Savannah office reporting to Samuel Hershberger, branch office manager.

“We welcome Barbara to the branch and feel she will make a great addition to our office,” said Hershberger.

Prior to joining Smith Barney, Dr. Bart served as professor of marketing and director of the Survey Research Center at Savannah State University where she led several research projects for the Effingham County Hospital Authority and the Effingham County Commission.

As a financial advisor with the firm, she will provide a full suite of financial planning and investment services to high net worth clients and individual investors with a primary focus on retirement and estate planning, managed money, wealth management, private investments and portfolio management.

Bart earned her Ph.D. in business administration from the University of Georgia and her MBA and BA degrees in economics and finance from the University of Rochester.
