Effingham Cadet Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) recently received donations from the Effingham County Board of Commissioners and SM Promotions of Rincon.

The Board of Commissioners provided the squadron with a $90 donation that had been raised by participation of employees in “dress down” days. The squadron also received a sign from SM Promotions that is now marking the squadron’s meeting location on the campus of Effingham Christian School.

Civil Air Patrol is the U.S. Air Force Auxiliary, an organization staffed by volunteers throughout the U.S. Three missions are pursued by all CAP members: aerospace education, cadet programs and emergency services.

The Effingham Cadet Squadron meets on Monday evenings from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in building 200 at Effingham Christian School on Goshen Road. Members are grateful for the support they receive from the community.

Individuals interested in finding out more about CAP can visit the squadron Web site at www.ga453.org or contact Capt Richard Bush, squadron commander, at (912) 429-8050.
