Colton graduates from basic training

Air Force Airman Christopher L. Colton graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in San Antonio, Texas.

Colton completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills.

He is the son of Carolynn M. Grossman of Cochecton, N.Y., and Jeffery Colton of Springfield, and stepson of Richard S. Grossman of Cochecton, N.Y., and Mindy Colton of Springfield. He is also the grandson of Larry J. Houman Sr. of Bethel, N.Y., nephew of Larry J. Houman Jr. of Bethel, N.Y., and cousin of Michael J. Sheldon of Greece, N.Y.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
