One vocal group and 13 soloists entertained the crowd Saturday at the second annual Effingham Idol competition as part of the Olde Effingham festival.
Victoria Glidden took home two awards in the high school division. Glidden, who performed the song “Tough,” earned first place as well as the people’s choice award.
Kate Lanier took second place in the high school division with her rendition of “I Dream the Dream” and Natalie Starling, who sang “God Bless America,” placed third.
Gabbi Hanlon won the middle school division with a stirring performance of “Lead Me to the Cross.” Christian Faith Andrews took second place, Kyra Safrin placed third and Victoria Hendrix won the people’s choice vote.
Also performing in Effingham Idol were Alexia Chavez, Tiana Gordon, Carrie Kitchen, Ruth Lister, Emmanuel Pinkney, Erika Stokes and the five-member group Rangers made up of Megan Brandt, Stephanie Brandt, India Nelson, Maia Nelson and Alex Peth.
