A piece of Effingham’s past comes home to Springfield. Volunteers of the SRC (Springfield Revitalization Corporation) receive original seats from the historic Mars Theatre. The seats were donated back to the SRC, who is working to raise funds to renovate the Theatre by the Guyton Masonic Lodge. The group has also been given 300 theatre seats by the Tybee Theatre group. The SRC is making progress in restoring the 1940s era theatre and is currently seeking contractors to start the renovation work on the building.
