Kroger employee and Rincon resident Chris Pigg won the drawing of $500 in Target gift cards as part of the United Way of the Coastal Empire’s annual campaign.  Anyone who attends an employee campaign meeting has a chance to win the weekly prize.

Store managers and fellow employees gathered at the front of the store to surprise Pigg as his name was called over the store’s PA system.

United Way of the Coastal Empire’s annual campaign began in September and during their 12 weeks of soliciting the four-county areas of Bryan, Chatham, Effingham and Liberty for donations they offer everyone that attends an employee campaign meeting a chance to win one of the special prizes that is drawn weekly. The prizes are valued between $500 and $1,000 each.
