Effingham Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Rick Lott estimated the crowd for the fifth annual Oktoberfest at about 3,500 for the two days, a little bit down from last year.

“It was great seeing all the kids enjoying our greatly expanded children’s activities area,” he said. “The new bungee jumps were very popular. The cornhole tournament to benefit Family Promise was a lot of fun too, and money was raised for the cause by Faith Presbyterian.”
