Marine Corps PFC Caleb George Parrish graduated from basic military training at Parris Island, S.C., on Aug. 28. Parrish completed an intensive, 12-week training program that included military discipline  and physical fitness.

Parrish will be going to Camp Geiger, N.C., for his infantry training  on Sept. 8 for six to eight weeks.

He is the son of Wanda and Nick Parrish and grandson of Marian Donley.

Parrish graduated from Effingham County High School in 2009.
