Seven winners were recognized in the United Way of Effingham County’s coloring contest leading up to its annual fundraising campaign next month.

A total of 69 children in seven age groups participated in the Wonder Woman-themed coloring contest. Entries came from the United Way of the Coastal Empire-Effingham Facebook page, local child care centers and the Effingham YMCA day camp.

The coloring contest helped promote the theme of this year’s campaign, “United Way … Working Wonders.” The campaign will run from Sept. 10-Nov. 21.

United Way Effingham advisory board members served as judges for the contest. All winners received a bag filled with goodies and a certificate of appreciation.
