Air Force Reserve Airman 1st Class Austin S. Wassner graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in San Antonio, Texas.

Wassner is the son of Sheryl Wassner of Pooler and Alfred Wassner of Savannah. He is also the brother of Alex Wassner of Seattle, Wash., grandson of Alfred Wassner of Savannah, and nephew of Lisa Heater of Effingham and Laura Milko of Rincon.

Wassner completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
