U.S. Rep. John Barrow (D-Augusta) will host his annual job fairs in the 12th District, with one scheduled for Augusta and another for Statesboro.
Each year, Barrow brings together local employers who are currently hiring. In addition, Barrow holds a job fair specifically for veterans looking to find work.
On Aug. 17, Barrow will host his annual, local job fair in Augusta. Employers from across the 12th District will be on hand to discuss current job opportunities and provide assistance to potential employers. This is event is free and open to the public for anyone living within the 12th District.
“Ensuring that folks in the 12th District have access to job opportunities in our area is one of my top priorities,” said Barrow. “Each year, we bring together local employers who are actually hiring and connect them with job seekers from across our region. I hope folks will take advantage of this opportunity, and join us at our event this year.”
On Aug. 20, Barrow will host his annual veterans’ job fair in Statesboro.
“Our nation’s heroes have sacrificed so much for us, and it’s important for us to make sure their transition to civilian life is as smooth as possible,” Barrow continued. “Our annual veteran’s job fair connects employers from across the state with the skilled men and women who’ve served our country, and I’m committed to ensuring their success after they’ve risked their lives for us. I’d encourage our veterans from across the 12th District to stop by our jobs fair, and ask questions about job opportunities from some of the best businesses in our region.”
Some of the employers scheduled to participate in the job fairs include Gulfstream Aerospace, Coca-Cola Bottling Company, Georgia Regents University, Walmart, Georgia Ports Authority, and many more.
